Summer and our Garden

This summer Arlo and I are going to start a Garden. I am so excited for this project! I have been wanting to try my hand at Gardening for a long time but have been a bit overwhelmed on how to get started. A good friend of mine Sonya suggested I try square foot gardening. The basic idea is you build a garden box above ground, either a 2x2 or 4x4 box you can choose the size; We decided on a 4x4.You plant different veggies etc in square foot sections. Some of the benifits to this are; you are yeilding a much smaller amount of produce, and you can control the quality of your soil. Groundsoil is harder to get just right. Apparently the magical combination is starting with a good soil (ph level at least 6.5) then add some compost, peat moss and vermiculite. Mix this all together and you are supposed to create a perfect growing environment. We finally took the plung and got our first garden box put together today!
Heres Dad and Arlo pouring in the dirt....

Mom and Arlo mixing everything up.... Our finished product....Arlo doing a ride on his "motorcycle" around the dirt pile with his gardening gloves...Next we are on to planting. So far I am thinking of trying a few veggies and some herbs. Anyone out there who gardens do you have some suggestions on what we should try?

My baby and The Red Sox

We have begun a new era...yep my baby is playing T-ball. I don't know how it happened so fast. One minute he was my little bubs and the next he is involved with organized sports. It was the absolute cutest thing EVER! everything about it is cute. His hat, his uniform, watching him play-which was so funny. The kids actually did really well for their first game. I was pretty impressed. Arlo seemed to have a great time with dad. He listened to his coach really well and his little buddy Dawson from preschool was there.

Arlo getting ready to swing....Making a Hit.....and running to First!Dad giving Arlo some tips in the out field.Arlo trying to catch a "grounder"

Even Granma & Grandpa Dilley came to watch him play...Grandpa took Dyl to the car for mom to warm him up. But here is a pic of him and Grandma....It was a great first game. Mom & Dad loved seeing our big boy all dressed in his uniform and having a good time.

Arlo & Teague Reunite!

Arlo's best little friend Teague moved to Las Vegas about 8 months ago. Teague was born in the same hospital on the same day (technically the next day, he was born just after midnight). Heres the Pic of me and Nicole at the hospital with the boys.... The first Pic of Tiegue & Arlo togetherMy sister also watched Teague for the first two years of his life and as a result of that He and Arlo have a very special bond. Since Teaglet has moved Arlo continually asks for him -at least once a week. I thought over time he might lessen the requests but he hasn't let up. Finally we got a special visit from Nicole (uncle Eric's adorable sister) and Teague! It was great to see them both. We have missed them so much since they moved. It was amazing, it was like no time had passed since the boys saw eachother. The minute they were in view of one another they both started screaming and running towards eachother. After some big hugs they were off! They played...and played....and played.

Here they are shooting the bad guysBlasting off on their ship.....Making their plans.....Defeating the bad guys.....Arlo "saving" Teague from a fall....Uncle Eric Swinging the boys....Finally LUNCH.....
and some more Hugs.... Then it was off to Aunt Heather and Uncle Eric to have a sleep over with all of his favorite cousins. Arlo had the BEST weekend!

Dilley Family Easter

We had a great Easter this year. We celebrated the fesitivities at my house with My Mom, Sister and her family and Clint's sister Claire who came in for a suprise visit from Georgia. We had so much fun!

On Easter morning the boys woke up and had to go on a search for their baskets. With a little help Arlo was able to find his and Dyl's. Dyl loved the basket experience and he also got a hold of a few treats..... Then Arlo and Dad had a sword fight with his new cape the easter bunny made him....

Dyl wanted to play too...Then the Fam came over for a day of easter egg hunting, music playing, baby browsing and eating. Who ever found the most eggs won some money...this is a great way to get the older kids into it. 1st prize winner was Hailey, 2nd prize Chase, tied for 3rd Ethan and Arlo. They had a lot of fun
Then the kids and hubby's played some music. We have quite a talented little family (myself excluded) they all can play something and they had a very successful rendition of Last Dance With Maryjane going....

Here are the babies...could they be any cuter????

HAPPY EASTER....

Arlo's music loving

The other day I found Arlo in the office with his headphones on. He looked as if he was listening very intently to something...I tried to just give him his privacy but this went on for over 30 minutes He just looked so cute I simply couldn't help myself and had to get out the camera.....Here is our conversation below;

Mom:Hey bud what ya doin?
Arlo: (pulls down his headphones and looks at me like I am an idiot) Listening to music

Mom: What are you listening to

Arlo: Well, I am trying to skip to Led Zeplin

Mom: Oh, really why?

Arlo: because, They rock harder

How in the world did I get such a cool kid????
